SANTA MONICA EARLY CHILDHOOD LAB SCHOOL

PROGRAM

The Santa Monica Early Childhood Lab School is a multi-use facility that serves the students of the Early Childhood Education Program at Santa Monica College, provides childcare for up to 110 children, and is a resource for the Santa Monica community. The project consists of three structures on an approximately 60,000sf site.

The new facility serves three uses: A community resource that provides information about child care services and activities throughout the city of Santa Monica, a state of the art lab school that provides a teacher training environment for SMC students in the Early Childhood Education program, and a child care center that serves 110 children, from six weeks to five years of age. Steffen Leisner designed this project with Carde Ten Architects.
